How does ABA therapy help children with autism?

ABA therapy helps children with autism by teaching important skills they use in everyday life. It focuses on improving communication, social skills, learning, and daily routines while reducing behaviors that may make learning or interactions more difficult. Using positive reinforcement and individualized goals, ABA therapy helps children gain independence, confidence, and the ability to succeed at home, school, and in the community.
2

What ages is ABA therapy appropriate for?

ABA therapy is appropriate for children of ages 1.5 to 18. It is often most effective when started early, but older children and teens absolutely benefit as well.
3

How much does ABA therapy cost?

Most families do not pay out of pocket costs because ABA therapy is considered a medically necessary treatment for autism in many cases and is widely covered by both private insurance and medicaid. If you’re unsure about your coverage, please reach out and we will gladly assist you.

What are in-home ABA sessions like?

In-home ABA sessions take place in your child’s familiar home environment at scheduled times, often several times per week. Your ABA therapist will choose a specific area of the home as the main therapy space, though other areas may be used if needed. In-home ABA therapy is personalized to each child, however, typical goals include improved communication, behaviors, social skills, and daily routines.

Sessions are structured but engaging and often feel like play, especially for younger children. Our therapists use everyday activities and positive reinforcement to teach skills that can be practiced home daily. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to observe, ask questions, and take part, so progress continues beyond the scheduled sessions.

How long does ABA therapy take?

The length of ABA therapy varies for each child and depends on their individual needs, goals, and progress. Some children benefit from therapy for several months, while others may continue for a few years. ABA therapy is regularly reviewed and adjusted over time to ensure it remains effective and supports your child’s growth and development.
